Travel is a way for all of us to escape the daily grind, reconnect with what matters, find ourselves and experience pure joy!
Hiking is booming in a world that’s always in a rush. Whether it be sporty, cultural or spiritual, there’s a path for everyone.
And one that you can try is the Way of St. James!
The Via Lemovicensis runs through our land. The trail covers around 1100km between Vézelay in Burgundy and Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port.
It takes you from the Eternal Hill of Vézelay through the Limousin and Périgord countryside from the Loire to La Charité then Bourges or Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre. Saint-Front Cathedral’s domes loom in Périgueux, then come the Entre-Deux-Mers and sprawling Landes forest leading to Saint-Palais and its famous Gibraltar stele, a small landmark built in 1964 to symbolise the supposed crossroads between Tours, Vézelay and Puy-en-Velay.
