In Spring, gaze at the wild daffodils along the railway line or settle down on the riverbank for a spot of fishing with the family. Explore our footpaths and keep your eyes peeled! You may well spot wild orchids growing along the paths.

In summer, paddle in Nantheuil lake or cool off at the foot of Château de Jumilhac le Grand. Take the family on a leisurely hike: the bridge loop. It only covers a few miles and it’s great for cooling off in the forest and nearby stream.

In autumn, feast your eyes on the colourful trees wtih a trip to Jumilhac le Grand. The rolling trail runs along the river and it’s the perfect season for spotting deer and stags. Take a walk around Mialet dam or Barde Lake in La Coquille in autumn and you’ll feel like you’ve been whisked away to Canada! Some PDIPR footpaths through a pine forest bring to mind the Landes region. Make no mistake, you’re still in Périgord Vert.

In winter, wander around the foie gras and truffle markets to feast your senses and see what Périgord’s nature has in store for Christmas.

Get a breath of fresh air, you’ll never want to leave Périgord Vert !

Tourist Information provides hikes with Dominique as your guide (Link to agenda). She’ll tell you about the flora and fauna you see along the way. But that’s not all: Domi loves nature and heritage. She has lots of stories to tell you on her walks.

If you’re a keen hiker, there’s a new 200km route deep in the Parc naturel régional Périgord Limousin. The park’s trek is yours for the taking if you have 7-10 days to spare.
