The 17km greenway deep in Périgord Vert runs along the 19th century Thiviers-Saint Pardoux la Rivière railway line which the good old “tacot” (train) ran on.

It’s the same route as the Flow Vélo bike path. The Flow Vélo is a 190km bike path from Thiviers to Île d’Aix.

The path introduces visitors to the landscape and heritage. Feast your eyes on the untamed Côle and Dronne valleys as you come out of the leafy shade of the forests. Gaze at the botanical gems along the way.

A Sunday family outing to soak up the country air and woodland aromas… You may even bump into a squirrel or deer.

The surface is suitable for hikers, cyclists and horse riders.

If you’ve still got some gas in the tank, have a go at the fitness trail at the old Saint Jean de Côle train station near the Greenway.

The route covers the villages of Saint-Romain et Saint-Clément, Saint-Martin de Fressengeas, Milhac-de-Nontron, Thiviers and Saint-Pardoux-La-Rivière where you’ll find services and things to do.

Make sure you visit Saint-Jean-de-Côle, to get your fill of architectural wonder at “One of the Most Beautiful Villages in France”!

A magical moment to unwind and reconnect with nature.
