The Pôle Expérimental Métiers d'Art (PEMA) is waiting for you in Nontron, "Ville et Métiers d'Art". It hosts all year round thematic exhibitions dedicated to crafts: ceramics, enamel, mosaic, woodturning, design, etc. These exhibitions highlight contemporary creations stemming from ancestral know-how; they take place in an 18th century castle, overlooking the Bandiat valley and the Jardins des Arts. As a tribute to the cutlery tradition of the city and its famous Nontron knife, the castle also houses the Space of Blades and Metals, a collection of a hundred art and regional knives.
